Below are some FAQ’s to learn more about our long-standing partnership and ways you can get involved.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How did Team Worldwide become a partner of USA Luge?

USA Luge was preparing to compete in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. In 1997, a staff member of USA Luge saw an advertisement for Team Worldwide and our services, so they reached out to a local branch to inquire about shipping their equipment. It was quickly realized that Team Worldwide and USA Luge aligned in many areas, thus a new relationship was born!

How do the sleds get shipped?

In a true act of forward-thinking, a member of the leadership team at Team Worldwide worked with USA Luge to create sled-specific packaging for this equipment. Learn more from Bob Imbriani, VP of International Sales, in a recent interview on the Packaging Digest podcast.

Why is this packaging so important?

Gordy Sheer, USA Luge’s Director of Marketing (& first Olympic medalist in USA Luge’s history!) has first-hand knowledge of the importance of shipping this specialized equipment. He says “Moving approximately 20 refrigerator-sized boxes containing our sleds, tools, and critical gear in no small task. Add the time constraints associated with moving these boxes quickly from race to race around the globe every week, and you can see we face a logistics challenge. Team Worldwide has been a critical partner for us, making sure our sleds get where they need to be, sometimes before our team reaches their destination. They also guide us through the challenges often associated with moving equipment around the globe quickly.”

How many disciplines are in luge?

With the addition of women’s doubles (new for the 2026 Winter Olympics) and the Team Relay, luge has five different disciplines:

  • Women’s Doubles
